Phew... I'm finally down to my last paper tomorrow, which is Basic Microbiology.

But I'm gonna freak soon; I'm not even half way through my notes!

I guess the good news is that I'm done with the cake. I really hope it turns out well. I added a few chocolate chips in there just for fun.

I'm also done with Daphne's mini cake. Now, my To-Do list has shortened to:

1. Finish Studying Bmic.
2. Write that letter to Teachers for Teachers' Day.
3. Hurry up and rush back to where my cake is.

I baked both cakes at my Grandma's house, so I've gotta go back and check on it.

Gotta Go~

Hey everyone! I stumbled on a new website today, and it's called....

Men Are Better Than Women

Firstly, I'd like to say that that sentence there, is bullshit.

Men are not better than women.

Men AND Women are equals.

And that is how our society are to treat us. As equals.

Do check out that site it's pretty amusing, even though I disagree with that sentence.
Tell you what, I'll 'show' you one of the post there. Or rather a part of the post here.

Rape!

"A roommate who drinks all your beer isn’t a thief, he’s just a dick.
A younger brother who burns your toys isn’t an arsonist, he’s just a dick.
A guy who fucks a drunk girl who passed out in his bed isn’t a rapist, he’s just a dick.
Get over it."

And...

"I have something I call the Treasure Map of Truth that I use when dealing with women.
Step one is determining what women actually mean with a word like “sexually”. They never mean what you think they mean.
Step two means figuring out how much of it was her fault. It’s usually very high. In this case, 74%. And step three is see where she’s lying her fucking ass off."
See what I mean by amusing?

There's even a podcast of this article. Just click there to hear about it.

Now, I must return to my studies. Namely SFP. Gosh, I'm so gonna fail. Urgh.

Hello! Here's another question for you if u want! My answers would be down there as well. Question B2:

Two types of battery were tested for the length of time they lasted. The data obtained are summarised in the table below:

a) Test and conclude the hypothesis of equal variances at 5% significance level. Assume that both samples are independent and drawn from normal populations.
[ 12marks ]

b) Test and conclude whether the battery type A has a longer life-span than that of battery type B at the same significance level in part (a).
[ 8 marks ]

My answer:

a)
Ho: varianceA = varianceB
H1: varianceA doesn't = varianceB

Normal population -> use Z test

alpha = 0.05
alpha/2 = 0.025
Zalpha/2 = 1.96

Var(A) = 650.25
Var(B) = 1075.84

Z = [(x1 - x2)-(U1 - U2)]/Root of [(VarB/n1) + (VarA/n2)]
= 0.706
= 0.71

Since Zalpha/2 = 1.96 > Z = 0.71, we fail to reject Ho at 5% sig level.

There's insufficient evidence to prove that H1 is true at 5% sig level.

That's all. I think I did this one wrongly though.

-----------

I was watching Mulan just now, and it reminded me of how much I love this song. There's 2 versions of it. The one sung by Christina Aguilera, and this one.

Look at me
I will never pass for a perfect bride,
or a perfect daughter
Can it be
I'm not meant to play this part?

Now I see
that if I were truly to be myself
I would break my family's heart

Who is that girl I see
Staring straight back at me?
Why is my reflection someone I don't know?
Somehow I cannot hide
Who I am, though I've tried
When will my reflection show
who I am inside

When will my reflection show
who I am inside

Hi! I'm posting this up becasue I wanna compare answers. Here's question B1:

A group of researchers wants to determine if four brands of antacids are different from each other in terms of speed in relieving gastric problem. Four patients are randomly selected and assigned to consume either brand A, B, C or D withrecommended dosage whenever a gastric problem begins. The table below records the number of minutes that it takes for the antacids ti relieve the patients' gastric problem:

a) Compute the grand mean and respective variances for A, B, C, or D. [ 5 marks ]

b) Complete the ONE-WAY ANOVA table, where "Treatment" refers to the four different brands of antacid. [ 9 marks ]

c) Test and conclude at 5% significance level whether there is sufficient evidence to claim that the four different brands are having the same average speed in relieving gastric problems.

My answers are:

a)
Grand mean: 27.9
Variance A: 12.67
Variance B: 82
Variance C: 8.25
Variance D: 16.67

b)
Df(Tr) = 3
Df(E) = 12
Total = 15

SS(Tr) = 288.21
SS(E) = 358.77
Total = 646.98

MS(Tr) = 96.07
MS(E) = 54.9

F = 1.75

c) Null Hypothesis: All means are equal.
Alt. Hypothesis: Not as stsed in H(null).

F alpha/2, k-1, N-k = F 0.05, 3, 12
= 3.49

Conclusion:

Since F=1.75 < Fcritical =3.49, we fail to reject Ho at 5% sig level.

There is sufficient evidence to prove that H1 is true at 5% sig level.

ie. The claim that the four different brands are having the same average speed in relieving gastric problems is not true.

I think I'll post another question tmr. For those who know how to do this question, PLEASE TAG to tell me your answers. Or else I'm gonna fail MathStats.

Your participation is greatly appreciated (:

Crys.

Today's pretty nice =D

I went to the library to study with Gillian! And after lunch, we saw Nurul! It's been so long, girls! ;)

We chatted quite a bit, but I'm glad I did study. Now, I'm left with:

BASIC MICROBIOLOGY

Topic 4 and 5

SFP

Ok, I didn't touch SFP yet.
But I'm going to! =D

OBC

Those last 3 topics. Carbohydrates, Proteins and Lipids.
Which reminds, can someone help me with the converting from Haworth to Fischer thingy? I'm still lost.

MATHSTATS

This subject, can kill me.
I tried doing the past year paper, and I couldn't answer half of the stuff there. Fuck.
I'm dead.

Well, looks like I've still got quite a bit of such to cram into that low memory storage brain of mine.

Tomorrow I'm going to some job interview place with Daphne. I hope I'll be home before 4pm; the earlier, the better.

Crys

P.S. Li Hui, can send me the resume through e-mail? Thanks!

Hello everyone!

For Temasek Poly students, we're having a study week. It's time where we don't have school and we stay home to study.

Of course, lecturers may just call us back to have a 2hr revision with us.

Anyway, if you'd like to have a study session with me, I can be found at the Marine Parade Library on this Thursday and Friday. M level. (:

As for BCS students, you can get practice papers online. Login to Digital Library to get the papers. If' you're lazy and would rather have the hard copy, contact me. If I happen to have that paper with me, you can photocopy it. Please bring your cashcard with you as I don't have one.

All the best for everyone's up coming exams!

Crystal

P.S. Hey Ex-KCians, who's going back on the 31st of August? For the teachers' day celebration? Let me know. Thanks! ;)

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I can't contain my excitement!

Pregnant,
Mummy,
Daddy,
Grandparents,
Auntie!

Oh my goodness! I'm SO happy!
Okay, maybe I should explain a bit.

No, I'm not pregnant and I'm not gonna be a Mummy anytime soon.

But I just heard that my friend is pregnant!

Well, she's more than a friend;
she took care of me since I was young!
She's my Nanny's daughter =DD

Joycelyn Jie Jie!
Congrats!!

I haven't contacted for super long, so I just found out about it today.
And the long, is really long.
She's pregnant with a 8-9 months baby.

That shows how long I haven't contacted them.

The point is, I'm gonna be a 'Jie Jie' as well!

Afetr years of calling her Jie Jie, her son will be calling me that.

Yes! It's a boy!!

Oh my Goodness, I'm super uber excited for her!
KYAH!

Ok, I better go back to studying.
It's study week, and I'm determined to really study.

Serious!

Ah ma is gonna be a Jie Jie!!! =DDDD

As for J2, we have CSAS after OBC @ the research centre.
Ms J.L LOVES us so much that she wants to see us again. =.=

---------

Next, can someone tell me why there isn't paragraphing in my posts? I KNOW I added paragrahps for easy reading for you readers. But I have no idea why there isn't paragrahping in my post!

Actually, that's the reason why I changed my blogskin... AGAIN.

If this keeps up, I'm switching to LiveJournal.

Urgh. I'm such a Coding idiot.

Hello Dear readers!
It's been long.
Now, on with me and my ramblings about my past week.
I had my practicals last week.
TUSEDAY!
I had Science in Food Preparation Practical!
It's very easy for me to describe my 'review' on this practical.
In fact, it can be summarised into three words.
I.
SCREWED.
UP.
Now, wasn't that simple?!
Yes, I know I'm gonna flunk my SFP practical. But you know what?
I no longer care.
It's over; it's the past.
I guess I can only look forward and study well for my theory.
When Ms P. Lim was asking me all those questions, I had no idea what to answer.
Ms L:
What have you done here to get this fish?
Me:
Well, I placed the fish into the egg, and then placed it to the bowl of bread crumbs. Finally, I pan-fried it.
Ms L:
Okay, so what did the egg act as?
Me:
Erm... the egg acted as somekind of 'glue' that sticks the bread crumbs together?
Ms L:
So what kind of agent was it..?
Me:
ERR... Sticking Agent?
*End conversation*
Now, see why I'm gonna fail?
Of course, there's more questions, but embarrassing myself here is the last thing I want. =(
THURSDAY!
Ok, I had my Basic Microbiology Practical today.
I think it went worse than I expected.
I had to do the bloody pour plate, and I accidentally sqeezed the dropper thingy as I was transferring the microbe.
I hope Mr L didn't see that.
And that stuuuppiidddd Microscope.
I managed to focus the Microbe C, but the wet mount was total failure.
I couldn't find ANYTHING, other than the reflection of my eye lashes and unneccessary bacteria.
Urgh! I think Streak Plate is my last hope.
Gods, bless me?
--------------------
As for today, I was practicing my MathStats. I did those calculations, and I fail it by ONE MARK.
One
MEASLY
mark.
Ok, so that mark ain't that measly.
I've got another test coming up. I HAVE to pass that Term Test 2.
Or else, I'm gonna fail MathStats.
I don't wanna fail anything in my first year in TP!!! =(
Ekks.
Jeepers.
I mustn't give up!
I've still got 3 more chapters to practice on! I shall complete it tomorrow!!!
Hypothesis,
AnVOA,
Chi-Square.
I shall defeat you!!!
- Ah ma is determined!!! XD

It has been 3 days pass National Day, but I don't feel as if I've celebrated it. This year's NDP was ok, I guess? I didn't really bother to watch. I'm supposed to be all psych-ed with National Day and all, being happy that it's a Holiday and all that jazz.

But I'm not.

In fact, I was still asking my classmates what homework we have to hand in the next day on Wednesday. And next day was National Day!

Man, my body clock is whacked.

However, on Friday was quite enjoyable =DD

We had a Captain's Ball game at Pasir Ris Park. It's been long since I've played sports... well, kinda. :)

Then we stopped half way and ended up playing other games. Which I didn't join in as I aimmed to reach that highest point of the 'Mountain Rope'.
Well, that's what I call it, Mountain Rope. Corny? I dono't give much of a damn. The important part is...

I REACHED THE TOP OF THAT 'MOUNTAIN'.

Ha. In your face, height-o-phobia!

And for this achievement, I'd like to thank Jolene! Without her, I couldn't have reached the top!

Thanks, Jolene dear! =DD

Of course, we did more stuff, such as getting Chin Chow and dinner @ White Sands Food court, but I'm just lazy to go into details.

But you know what J2? I'm glad we had that outing. Although it wasn't the whole class, but still, thanks. =DD

------
Today's a Sunday, but it doesn't feel like my usual Sundays. I haven't seen my dearest cuzzy for.. what? 1 week plus? My gosh, I miss her. :(
Poly life can wreck my dinner timings. And without dinner at my Gran's, no cuzzy. :(
I haven't seen Hilyah as well. It feels like it's been so long since I last seen her. Gosh, I was hoping she'd help me with MathStats. That subject sucks.
And Pamela Chew!!! My goodness, you another one, haven't seen for SO LONG. You better come for the next SKY outing!
Besides, that outing would most likely be in celebration of HuanLi's Birthday, neh?
So you better go!~ ;)
-----
I still find schooling fun, as weird is it sounds. I guess the class you belong in really matters, huh?
Which reminds me, I need a study buddy. Or buddies. I remember back in KC where Sarah and WenYing would study... and it makes me have that urgency to study. And if I'm still lacking when Daphne studies, I know I ain't gonna do well.
I miss you all. Hope to see everyone together soon. :)
Loves,
That Ah Ma
Where's my sense of urgency? nano.

As I've said, this is the Picture post! =DD
All the overdue picture I wanted here are now here!!
Enjoy!~

My dearest cousins!!!

This was taken for the 'fieldtrip' to PastaFresca.

Jolene looks really pretty that day!

Thus, I took a picture with her!!!

These are actually test tubes from my Basic Microbiology Lab Session!
We had to do all that agar testing, TSI... and others.

I guess Microbes are kinda useful for colours? Hehe!

That guy in the suit there isn't my lecturer.

In fact, he's my classmate!

It's so rare to see him in such formal clothes!!
The whole get up is for the Communication Skills Presentation we had that day! =D

And yes, for the ex SPS people, That's Andy. That white guys you people tend to call him. He looks kinda tanned now, huh? :)

The groups there were supposed to present that day!

My group!

We did 'Save the Earth'. =D It was our topic! (:

And I had Dinner with Darling Daphne at Sakura on Tuesday!
It was her treat, and it was really ex! :(

But it's buffet, and I paid $9!
The sad part is that $9 isn't even half of my bills!

But Thanks Daphne!! Lovies my dear! =DD

Ah ma signs off here. ;)

I was given an assignment that required me to visit certain food blogs.

And I saw FOOD.

GLORIOUS FOOD.

I think I'm gonna go crazy.

Here are the websites, just in case you are interested.

Chubby Hubby

iEatiShootiPost

Kitchen Crazy Daffy

Lavender Cupcaker

I really like that last website, since I like desserts, and all those stuff you get through baking.

Do have a look at them when you're free; it's really worth it!

------
Today, we have a class 'fieldtrip'!
Well, kinda. =D
Anyway, we had an assignment that requires us to visit an exhibition at the National Museum.
A Banquet in Stone
It's really cool. The food displayed over there aren't real food. In fact, they are actually Stones.
Visit www.nationmuseum.sg for that picture.
Mouse over 'What's On',
Click on 'All Events',
And click on 'A Banquet in Stone'.
I'm not allowed to take photos in there, but what the heck.
They say rules are meant to be broken, no?
I took only 3 pictures, and I'm not gonna post them up.
Well, at least not yet. ;)
My next post will be a picture post, I guess.
I wanna clear out my the pictures in my phone!
I never seem to have enough memory in there. :(
But I still love my phone~ =DD
Loves,
Ah ma, who felt happy today!
